Turn your travel photographs into memorable photobooks

We love to take pictures and what we love more is taking pictures on holiday, away from home and in far distant lands. We often come back from our travels with hundreds of memorable snaps, and thanks to digital cameras you can take as many as you like. So what do we do when we are back? Show off our tans, put a few of the snaps onto a social networking site and load the rest of the pictures onto a disc or an external hard drive, only to be stumbled upon a few years later (or even deleted!) by accident.

Organise

Some travellers are often reluctant to have their photos developed, because they end up having tens of them flapping around everywhere, which they then have to spend time organising into albums. And no matter how much you organise, you’re always going to find a photo from your travels in Thailand have found their way into the ‘Nana’s Birthday’ album. But thanks to technology, your holiday and travel pictures do not have to face the same fate.

Photobook software is becoming readily available and is now even easier to use. So what does it do? It is pretty simple to be honest. You select all your favourite digital or scanned holiday snaps, tweak them by getting rid of any red eye, add a black and white or sepia effect if you like and then the software compiles them. The product you are finally left with is, all your photos printed and organised into a hardback book.

Share with friends

There are no photos falling out and becoming dog-eared and you can organise your travel books however you wish, alphabetically or chronologically ready to be pulled out to share with visitors and make them green with envy. The beauty of photobooks is you can make as many copies as you like, bit or small.

So what are you waiting for? Do something productive with your snaps and don’t let those panoramic scenes of the Grand Canyon or views from the Eiffel Tower go to waste under your bed. Here are three ideas to get your travel photobook collection started.

That amazing honeymoon

Whether you’re a newlywed couple or celebrating your diamond anniversary, it is always nice to reminisce about your time on that beach in the Caribbean or that romantic trip to Paris where your other half proposed.

Your gap year

If you took a gap year and spent it abroad it will probably be one of the most memorable experiences of your life. Not only because you are experiencing cultures in faraway lands, but also because of all the interesting people you meet and the friends you make. You can even make copies to send as a surprise to friends you promised to keep in touch with so you can all remember backpacking in Nepal or scuba diving in Australia.

Weekend breaks

Even though you’re only there for a few days it is surprising as to how many photos you accumulate when on city breaks in Europe. The landmarks and architecture would make a great photobook, which preserve the memories of a three-day trip forever.
