For the initial submission, generally ten images should be uploaded. Shutterstock requires at least seven of those images to pass review to gain acceptance. If rejected, the photographer must wait 30 days before trying again, so images should be chosen carefully.
What images have the best chance for microstock photography? There is high demand for product photography. A great way to add to blogs, recipes, and cooking sites is to buy or create examples of food photography. Photographers in this category may want to hire a food stylist. There might also be images of scenery, for example, in beach photography. It is important that the title be more exciting than “people laying on beach”. Proper lighting is essential for success. Photo tents can be expensive, but they can also be made. A simple internet search will yield instructions. If you are not adept at crafts, look for discount photo tents on the web.
