Giving Away A Free Iphone 16gb, A Feasible Business Model?

There are numerous sites kicking around the internet promising free gadgets such as the Sony PS3 or the Apple iPhone. They appear to be giving away these highly desirable gadgets for free – yes, you read correctly, I did say for free! How do they do it I hear you ask? It just doesn’t sound feasible to me that a company can stay in business simply by giving away the very latest technology. Before I’d be prepared to put my name to any such offer I thought an investigation was in order to find out just how it’s done. I decided to take a look at myfreeiphone.net, who seem to offer the whole of Apple’s smartphone range for nothing. This includes the white iPhone 4 (in both 16GB and 32GB versions) as well as the new starter iPhone, the 3GS. I carried out some lengthy research on the matter, and when you delve deeper into the concept of giving away gadgets it turns out to be something quite feasible, a game of numbers and commission which, to the outsider, doesn’t seem possible. I’ll try to explain how it all works. The following example is based on the iPhone 16GB available through myfreeiphone.net and other similar sites.

When you sign up for one of these free cell phones you are required to complete an offer with another company. There are numerous offers from which to choose but they usually entail taking out some sort of trial membership (to a book club for example). When you take out this offer, the company you sign up to do the offer with will pay the company giving away the free gadget some commission in the form of a cash payment. This may only be 25-30 and nowhere near the cost of am iPhone, but this is not the only thing you have to do to get your hands on the latest generation games console. You also have to get ten other people (family, friends, colleagues, etc) to also sign up and complete an offer. Now, add another twenty lots of commission to your original 25-30 and you soon have the cost of a new iPhone, especially if the products are bought in bulk. On top of this, anyone signing up and not achieving the full quota of ten additional sign ups won’t get their new phone but the company giving away the smart-phones will still get their commission. I hope this all make sense and you can see how these fantastic sounding offers are in fact completely genuine. Please note that the example of twenty additional sign ups relates to an iPhone 4 16GB. There are different numbers of sign ups required depending on the exact gift you desire.

I hope this piece has convinced you that these companies giving away free gadgets are completely genuine. After all, the figures more than stack up in their favour, just make sure you get the correct number of friends to sign up or else all your hard work will go to waste – you have been warned! All you have to do now is claim your gadget. You’ll be gaming away in no time!
